About the role:
As the Professor of STEM Education, you will be expected to contribute to the school's research, teaching and engagement profiles and will undertake relevant STEM Education leadership and administrative duties. In addition to producing high quality research and providing research leadership, including attracting HDR students and competitive grants, you will play an important role in advancing learning and teaching excellence including continuing to teach as an example of best practice.
You will need to have:
- A PhD or equivalent that is relevant to the broad discipline of STEM Education or a related field, with an outstanding track record of independent research as evidenced by high impact research outputs in industry, government or academic environments.
- Ability to foster respectful and productive working relationships with staff, students and colleagues at all levels.
- Evidence of outstanding teaching at all levels.
- Outstanding research track record including high quality publications, successful grants/tenders.
- Proven track record of highly developed leadership, with a demonstrated ability to provide strategic focus and direction, fostering a culture of innovation and collaborative academic achievement.
- Demonstrated capacity to apply deep knowledge of the higher education environment to work effectively with stakeholders to foster public engagement within the discipline of STEM Education.
- This position requires a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and/or Working with Vulnerable People Check (WWVP) (ACT only).

Total remuneration valued to $230,231 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $195,450 (pro rata) pa (Academic Level E Increment 1), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
