About this role

  • Continuing, Full-Time (part-time negotiable)
  • School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences
  • CQUniversity Rockhampton, Cairns and Mackay (working from home is negotiable; occasional travel required)
  • Relocation support available
  • Full-Time Lecturer (Academic B) – Total Remuneration $134,980 to $157,870 pa (including salary of $113,980 to $133,403 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)
  • Full-Time Senior Lecturer (Academic C) – Total Remuneration $162,470 to $184,987 pa (including salary of $137,290 to $156,317 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)

We are seeking a Lecturer and a Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics to contribute to teaching across our Bachelor of Nutrition / Master of Nutrition and Dietetics courses, which are designed to align with contemporary dietetic and nutrition practice and respond to the health needs of local and regional communities. In these positions, you will deliver engaging learning experiences on and off campus, coordinate units and contribute to curriculum development aligned with contemporary dietetic and nutrition practice. You will supervise honours and postgraduate students and contribute to the School’s research profile while developing or advancing a research agenda that supports improved nutrition and health outcomes. You will also actively engage in ongoing professional development to ensure culturally responsive teaching and inclusive learning experiences.

Selection criteria
  • Current accreditation as an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD).
  • Postgraduate qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to undertake a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching/Education.
  • An understanding of current professional and educational issues in higher education.
  • Proven record of scholarship and/or excellence in research.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Doctoral qualification (PhD) in Nutrition and Dietetics or willingness to enrol.
  • Professional experience in regional, rural and remote settings, including First Nations Health (desirable).

Additional Requirements for Senior Lecturer (Academic C)

  • Doctoral qualification (PhD) in Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Proven ability to develop innovative teaching materials that support students in achieving learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to take a leadership role and mentor junior academic staff.
  • Strong research track record, evidenced by recent publications, with the ability to contribute to the School’s research agenda.
