The Vice-President Academic oversees the Tertiary Education Division, which includes the School of Access Education, the School of Business and Law, the School of Education and the Arts, the School of Engineering and Technology, the School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences, the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences, the College of Trades, plus the portfolios of Learning Design and Innovation, Educational Quality and Integrity, and Vocational Education Learning and Teaching.
To be successful in this role you will be an inspirational leader who brings standing, strategic vision and senior leadership experience required to innovate and lead a fast-paced and constantly evolving academic environment. You will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to foster positive relationships with stake holders both internally and externally. As a change leader, you will inspire action in others, seek bold ventures and unique business opportunities and respond with vision and agility during periods of growth. Most importantly, your actions and decision making, both collective and individual, will reflect the values of our organisation.
Selection criteria
- PhD qualification and a significant record of research and scholarship, with the credibility to provide clear academic leadership.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of university management, governance and quality assurance frameworks including legislative and accountability requirements for the Australian higher education sector.
- Detailed knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum and educational best practice.
- A willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
