Key Research Themes
Our research is organised around four impactful themes, each prioritising the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
(i) Healthy People and Economies
Focusing on SDG 5 (Gender Equality), 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities), we explore labour and health economics, the future of work, transformative work design, and mental health. Our research promotes resilient workplace cultures, leadership development, and sustainable career paths, fostering environments where everyone can thrive.
(ii) Digital and Technological Transformation
Anchored in SDG 8 and 12, our work delves into the intersection of technology and economy. We investigate the implications of artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, and digital marketing. Our projects also address the ethical dimensions of technology, ensuring that innovation is responsible and equitable.
(iii) Sustainable and Resilient Communities
Committed to SDG 10, 12, 13, and 16, our research champions climate action, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable entrepreneurship. We examine issues like housing affordability and green supply chains, striving to create communities that are not only resilient but also inclusive and sustainable.
(iv) A Fair Society
With a focus on SDG 5, 10, and 16, we tackle inequalities based on gender, race, and ethnicity. Our work explores modern slavery, financial literacy, and governance issues, driving forward our commitment to social justice and equitable access to opportunities.
(v) Our Leadership Philosophy
At the Faculty of Business and Law, we believe in leadership that transcends traditional goals. We seek leaders who are creative, humble, and guided by both the head and the heart. Our ideal leaders are passionate about using their skills to create lasting change in their communities. With a diverse advisory network and strategic partnerships—locally, nationally, and globally—we realise our strategic priorities together.
