  • Based at our Melbourne, Burwood Campus
  • Full-time and continuing in the school of Information Technology
  • Level B $113,157 - $133,837 + 17% Superannuation (pro rata, part time)


Who are we?

The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creativity, social development, and groundbreaking research and discovery. We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Information Technology.

 

About the role:

The Lecturer, Information Technology will lead unit teaching teams in UG and/or PG programs to deliver unit learning outcomes and continuously improve the student learning experience and outcomes. Preference will be given to those with a background in Cloud, Quantum, Networking and/or Cyber Security.

This position is suited to a person with an emerging record and passion for learning and teaching, a keen interest in contributing to community engagement for teaching and employability.

As a Lecturer in Information Technology, Education-focused, you will:

  • Lead unit teaching teams and work collaboratively with other unit teaching teams in the course to develop effective unit curricula and learning resources (including through unit leadership roles).
  • Assist in applying industry, clinical and/or research practice into student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources.
  • Adopt innovation in curriculum design at the unit level and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.
  • Design collaborative learning opportunities at the unit level. Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive unit material and practices.
  • Develop effective assessment tasks and rubrics at unit level.
  • Provide academic support to students within units and guide students to appropriate support services where appropriate.



Selection criteria

Selection Criteria - To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Conferred PhD in an information technology, computer science or related discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design.
  • Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning.
  • Ability to deliver effective teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
  • Passion for transnational education and ability to deliver teaching programs in Australia, and our offshore campuses, if required.
  • Emerging record of scholarly learning and teaching in postgraduate or undergraduate programs
  • Demonstrated passion for teaching and learning.
  • Ability to deliver effective teaching practices to improve student success and engagement.
