The Role

Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the University’s senior leadership team and will lead and direct financial planning, policy and accountability and balance the responsibilities of stewardship with business partnership. The position is central to providing leadership for the University's fiscal governance and will ensure that all internal and external accountabilities relating to the University’s finances are met, timely and of a high standard. The position is accountable for the on-going development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve the University’s assets and report accurate financial results.

• CA/CPA qualification and significant experience in financial management & control at a senior level.
• Proven finance management experience and success at a senior level in a complex large organisation.
• Extensive experience of managing large finance teams. 
• Proven business acumen to manage financial resources to deliver leading edge finance initiatives and outcomes. 
• Demonstrated ability to effectively initiate, promote, manage and implement significant organisational change.
• Demonstrated high level ability to provide leadership and supervision to a diverse range of staff in order to motivate, develop, empower and coach staff to excellence in work performance, client service and the achievement of University and work area outcomes.
• Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with staff at all levels of the organization to achieve successful outcomes.
